VVKI Partners with Jungheinrich India for Afforestation at Two Ecologically Sensitive Sites

Vyakti Vikas Kendra India (VVKI), a registered public charitable trust under the aegis of The Art of Living, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Jungheinrich Lift Truck India Private Limited for an afforestation project under Jungheinrich's Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. VVKI drives service initiatives across India spanning environment, education, rural development, skill development, and women empowerment.

Under this partnership, VVKI will plant over 3,700 native trees across two locations.

At the East Kolkata Wetlands, a designated Ramsar Site in West Bengal, 2,000 trees of species including Coconut, Arecanut, Guava, Mango, and Pomelo will be planted. At the backwaters of Thippagondanahalli (TG Halli) Reservoir in Karnataka, over 1,700 trees of species including Indian Fig, Arjuna, Banyan, Amla, Jamun, Karanja, Neem, and Tamarind will be planted.

Each sapling will be nurtured and maintained for two years, covering site preparation, procurement, and ongoing upkeep. Project progress will be tracked through quarterly dashboards with geo-tagged images. All species selected are native to their respective regions.
