Shilpa Tudu: She Lost Her Father. She Didn't Lose Her Education.

Shilpa Tudu's family has faced significant financial and personal hardship. Her father, Suresh Tudu, passed away in March 2025. Her mother works as the school's tailor. Her brother graduated from the same school in 2024.

In most villages in Jharkhand, losing the earning parent ends a girl's education the same week. It didn't end Shilpa's.

A full scholarship covers her fees. Free meals mean her mother doesn't have to choose between feeding her and educating her. The school has smart boards, a STEM lab, and extracurricular programmes in dance, karate, and archery — all of which Shilpa participates in.

The school didn't just keep a seat open for her. It held the whole structure in place around a family that was falling apart — financial support, meals, education, activities, and her mother's employment, all under one roof.

Shilpa is still in school. Still learning. Still building. What she needs is for this to continue.
