HAL Partners with VVKI for Healthcare and Education Initiatives Under CSR

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Vyakti Vikas Kendra India (VVKI), a charitable trust under the aegis of The Art of Living, to support healthcare and education projects in Odisha and Karnataka.

Under this agreement, HAL will fund two initiatives as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme.

The first is the contribution of medical equipment and associated items to Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital at Sri Sri University, Cuttack, Odisha. The hospital is an integrative healthcare institution that serves approximately 25,000 patients annually, including those from rural and economically disadvantaged communities across more than 50 surrounding villages. The equipment will strengthen key departments including radiology, laboratory diagnostics, ophthalmology, ENT, operation theatre, physiotherapy, and infection prevention, enabling the hospital to deliver comprehensive specialty services under one roof.

The second initiative supports Ved Vignan Maha Vidya Peeth School at Udayapura, Karnataka. The school provides completely free education to around 1,200 marginalized students from 56 villages, covering admission, textbooks, uniforms, nutritious mid-day meals, co-curricular activities, and transportation. Many children travel 5 to 20 kilometres daily from remote areas where public transport is not available. HAL's contribution will fund the purchase of two buses to address this transportation need and the construction of sanitation facilities to improve the school's infrastructure and learning environment.

The MoA was signed by Shri Shailendra Singh Chandel, General Manager (HR), Compliance and Services Management, Central Human Resource Cell, HAL, and Br. Pragyachaitanya (Shri Rohit Sikka), Chairman, VVKI, Bangalore.
