A New Chapter for Gurugram's Urban Ponds

A partnership that transforms forgotten ponds into living assets - for people, nature, and future generations.

Urban ponds are more than water bodies - they recharge groundwater, support biodiversity, and help cities withstand the impacts of climate change. Yet many of Gurugram's ponds have steadily deteriorated under the pressures of rapid urbanisation.

To reverse this trend, the Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) and The Art of Living Social Projects have signed an MoU to scientifically rejuvenate and sustainably manage the city's urban ponds. Combining ecological restoration, Nature-Based Solutions, and active community participation, the initiative aims to revive these neglected ecosystems and strengthen Gurugram's long-term water security.
